TrainerCheck vs My PT Hub

Unusually for this kind of comparison, client caps aren't the story: My PT Hub gives you unlimited clients too. The difference is how much software you're buying, and what it costs. My PT Hub Premium is £59/month for a full coaching platform. TrainerCheck is £25/month for the check-in loop and nothing else.

"Unlimited clients" isn't the difference here

Plenty of coaching platforms charge you more for growing. My PT Hub doesn't — its Premium plan is £59/month with unlimited clients, and Ultimate is £199/month, also unlimited. If you've been comparing tools on client caps, that box is already ticked on both sides. Credit where it's due.

So the question isn't "how many clients can I have." It's how much of the platform you open in a normal week. My PT Hub builds workouts, writes nutrition plans, hosts a branded client app and takes payments. If you're using all of that, £59 is a fair price for it and nothing on this page should talk you out of it.

But most independent coaches we speak to have their training in Sheets, Notion, a PDF, or in their head on the gym floor. What they open the platform for is the accountability loop — who checked in, who's gone quiet, reply to Sarah. That's the part TrainerCheck does, for £25/month flat, also unlimited.

What you're paying per month

My PT Hub's ladder, billed monthly: Starter £20 (capped at 3 clients), Premium £59 (unlimited), Ultimate £199 (unlimited). Annual billing brings those to about £18, £52 and £179.

The comparison that tends to land hardest isn't Premium — it's Starter. £20/month buys you three clients. For £25/month TrainerCheck gives you as many as you can coach, with the check-ins running themselves. And against Premium, you're looking at less than half the monthly cost if the check-in loop is genuinely what you're there for.

Where My PT Hub wins

Worth saying out loud, because it's true: at £59/month, unlimited everything is a lot of software. Workouts, nutrition, branding, payments and check-ins in one place, with a client app that looks like your business rather than ours. If you use most of that, it's good value and switching to a check-in tool would be a downgrade.

They also offer a 30-day free trial with no card, which is longer than our 14 days. If you're genuinely undecided, there's nothing stopping you running both trials in the same month and seeing which one you actually open.

So which should you use?

Stay with My PT Hub if: you build programs in it, write nutrition plans in it, want a branded client app, or bill clients through the platform.

Switch to TrainerCheck if: you deliver training your own way and need the accountability loop done properly — automated weekly check-ins, chase-ups you never send by hand, habit tracking, progress charts, monthly recap emails to every client, and a dashboard that tells you exactly who needs attention. Same unlimited clients, less than half the price, and your clients never download anything.

Looking for a My PT Hub alternative just for check-ins?

Most My PT Hub alternatives are other all-in-one platforms — a different program builder, a different client app, a similarly full feature list. If the platform itself is what you've stopped using, switching to another one changes the logo and not much else.

TrainerCheck is an alternative of a different shape: it drops the platform and keeps the accountability loop. Automated weekly check-ins, reminders, progress tracking, unlimited clients on one flat price, and nothing for your clients to install. Deliver training however you already do; let the check-ins run themselves.

Common questions

Is TrainerCheck a good My PT Hub alternative?

For check-ins, yes. TrainerCheck does automated weekly client check-ins for a flat £25/month with unlimited clients, but it doesn't build workouts, write nutrition plans or process payments. If the check-in and accountability loop is the part of My PT Hub you actually use week to week, it's a focused, lower-cost alternative. If your clients train from programs in the My PT Hub app, it isn't a full replacement.

Is TrainerCheck cheaper than My PT Hub?

Yes, at every plan level. My PT Hub Premium is £59/month billed monthly (£52/month billed annually) for unlimited clients, and Ultimate is £199/month. Their Starter plan is £20/month but caps you at 3 clients. TrainerCheck is a flat £25/month with unlimited clients — less than half the price of Premium, and only £5 more than a plan that stops at three clients.

Does My PT Hub have unlimited clients?

Yes. My PT Hub's Premium and Ultimate plans both include unlimited clients, so client caps aren't the difference between them and TrainerCheck. The Starter plan is limited to 3 clients. The real difference is scope and price: My PT Hub is a full coaching platform at £59/month and up, TrainerCheck is the check-in loop only at £25/month.

Do my clients need the My PT Hub app to use TrainerCheck?

No. TrainerCheck clients don't install anything. They tap a personal link and fill in a 60-second check-in in any browser — no app, account or password to manage. That tends to matter most with clients who never got round to downloading the app in the first place.

Should I switch from My PT Hub to TrainerCheck?

Switch if you deliver training your own way and mainly need the accountability loop: automated weekly check-ins, chase-ups for non-responders, habit and progress tracking, and a dashboard showing who needs attention. Stay with My PT Hub if you build programs in it, write nutrition plans in it, use its branded client app, or take client payments through it — at £59/month that's a lot of software, and it's good value when you're using it.
